Theun-Hinboun Power Co., Ltd. Contributes US $ 28,000 to Khammuan Provincial Hospital through the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Energy and Mines for the procurement of one set of kidney dialysis equipment. The handover ceremony was held on 22 February 2021 at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, attended by Dr. Khamani Inthirath, Minister of Energy and Mines, attended by Dr. Khamani Inthirath, Minister of Energy and Mines; and Assoc. Dr. Bounkong Sihavong, Minister of Health.
Later, on 29th March 2021, a handover ceremony of kidney dialysis equipment was held at Khammouane Provincial Hospital with the participation of Mr. Vanxay Phongsavanh, Governor of Khammouane Province; and both the Ministers of Energy and Mines and the Minister of Health.

An official opening ceremony for New Nam Hai Bridge (Khounkham Bridge) is taken place on 9th March 2021 at Ban Nakham, Khounkham District,
Khammuan Province under the chair of Mr. Vanxay Phongsavanh, Khammuan Province Governor.
Khammuan Province Department of Public Works and Transportation says that the budget for the New Nam Hai Bridge is funded by Theun-Hinboun Power Company Limited and its shareholders which cost over US$ 1.13 million. The new bridge will improve the transportation in Khounkham district and will also boost the tourism business in the area. The construction of the bridge started in early May 2019 and complete in the end of February 2021. The bridge is made from iron girder I shape with reinforced concrete for the bridge surface which can load 43 tons, the length of the bridge is 50.6 m and the width is 7.5 m. The Road No. 8 Construction Enterprise and Tay Truong Son Construction Sole Co., Ltd is the main contractor of the project.
THPC operates the Theun-Hinboun and Nam Gnouang Powerhouses in Khammouane and Bolikhamxay provinces of the Lao PDR, with a combined capacity of 520 megawatts. THPC is the only major independent power producer that is majority Lao-owned and 99% of its staff are Lao nationals. The company’s business covers not only power production, but also innovative and wide-ranging social and environmental programs across five districts in two provinces. THPC has contributed over US$608 million to the state since beginning operations in 1998.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Dr Khammany Inthirath (right) presented a certificate of congratulations to the General Manager of Theun-Hinboun Power Company (THPC), Mr Robert Allen Jr, in recognition of the firm’s contributions to socio-economic development since it became operational. Up to now, THPC has handed over more than US$664 million. In 2019 alone, the company handed over a total of US$23.47 million. The ceremony to hand over the certificate was held in Vientiane on Tuesday and witnessed by officials from both sides.
THPC and EDL-Gen Host Golfers for Rural Schools
The Theun-Hinboun Power Company (THPC) and its major shareholder, Electricité du Laos Generation (EDL-Gen) hosted their Charity Golf Tournament on 23rd Jan 2021 at Vientiane’s Lao Country Club to raise funds for infrastructure improvements at rural schools.
The amateur tournament is organised each year with the assistance of the Lao Golf Federation to raise funds for specific charities, with previous recipients including those affected by flooding in southern provinces of Laos, the Thongphong School for Blind Children and the Lao Chess Federation.
All expenses involved with the golf event were covered by THPC, which then charged each participant 600,000 kip to join the tournament. The revenue collected from the golfers will be used to improve infrastructures of Ban Nam Kui Primary School, Longxan District, Xaysomboun Province.
