Theun-Hinboun Power Company Limited (THPC), the owner and operator of the Theun–Hinboun Power Plant in Khammouane and Bolikhamxay Provinces of the Lao PDR, is inviting all interested and qualified parties to submit tender documents for the following requirements:

The Trash Rake Cleaning Machine (TRCM)

The Theun-Hinboun Power Company Limited is seeking tenders for:

  • Design, Fabrication and installation of the Trash Rake Cleaning machine to the TH 3 intake gate

The new trash rake cleaning machine to be supply and installation in TH Dam, located in the Khamkeuth Ditrict, Bolikhamxay Province, Lao PDR.

Vientiane, February 10th 2022

On February 10, 2022, at the Khounkham District Administration Office, Khammouane Province, the Government of Lao PDR awarded a Class III Development Medal to Theun-Hinboun Power Co., Ltd (THPC) in recognition of its contribution to the construction of Khoun Kham Bridge (New Nam Hai Bridge) with a total construction cost of US $ 1,131,685. The Ceremony was attended by Mr. Vongphet Vongphet Chitpanya, Khammuan Province Deputy Party Secretary, Mr. Robert Allen Jr, THPC Managing Director, Khounkham District Governor and the district high ranking officials, THPC Deputy Managing Director and key staff.

The new bridge was officially opening in March 2021 and has greatly improved transportation and tourism business in Khounkham district.

Note to editors: THPC operates the Theun-Hinboun and Nam Gnouang Powerhouses in Khammouane and Bolikhamxay provinces of the Lao PDR, with a combined capacity of 520 megawatts. THPC is the only major independent power producer that is majority Lao-owned and 99% of its staff are Lao nationals. The company’s business covers not only power production, but also innovative and wide-ranging social and environmental programs across five districts in two provinces. THPC has contributed over US$712 million to the state since beginning operations in 1998.

Vientiane, June 7th 2022

 Theun-Hinboun Power Company Limited (THPC) has contributed its 2021 Profit Tax US$18.68 million to the Tax Department; and US$4.27 million, and THB71.80 million to the State Asset Management Department, Ministry of Finance.  The handover ceremony was organized on 7 June 2022 at the Ministry of Finance, attended the event by Mr. Phaithoun THIENGLAMAI, Vice Director General of Tax Department, Mrs. Phaivone THOUMPHAVANH, Deputy Head of Resources Management Division, State Asset Management Department and THPC Management.

In 2021, the total payment THPC paid to the government is US$64.08 million which including Dividend US$38.66 million, Profit Tax US$18.68 million, Royalties US$6.5 million, and Personal Income Tax US$ 0.24 million (2,874.97 million Lao KIP). Since the start of COD of the first project in 1998 to 2021, THPC has made total contributions of US$711.53 million to the Lao Government through Dividends, Taxes and Royalties.

THPC was authorized to develop its first project in 1994 and launched in 1998. Since the significant increase of energy demand in the country and in neighbouring country, THPC initiated the study for the expansion project. The construction of the expansion project started in 2009 and completed in 2012. With the completion of the expansion project, the total installed capacity Theun-Hinboun Power Plant is increased from 220 MW to 520 MW.

On April 19, 2021, at Ministry of Finance, Vientiane Capital, Theun-Hinboun Power Co., Ltd received a Ministerial Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Finance, awarded by Mr. Bounchom Oubonpasueth, Minister of Finance, and received by Mr. Robert Allen Jr, THPC General Manager.

Throughout the THPC operations, the company has fulfilled its obligations continuously and regularly.
THPC has regularly pay its tax, reported its tax accurately and timely, no outstanding tax and no penalty due to late tax payments. For such outstanding achievements, the Ministry of Finance has awarded a Category I Certificate of Appreciation to the Company in recognition of its achievements and merits.
